Enabling Supply Allocation
To activate the Supply Allocation feature in NetSuite, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Setup > Company > Enable Features.
- Click on the Items & Inventory subtab.
- Check the Multi-Location Inventory box.
- Check the Supply Allocation box.
- Save your changes to initiate the required data check.
- On the Supply Allocation Migration page, click Submit.
- If needed, click Refresh to check the status of the data check.
- If the data check is successful, you will receive confirmation.
- If unsuccessful, follow the prompt to contact NetSuite Customer Support.
- If successful, return to Setup > Company > Setup Tasks > Enable Features.
- Click the Items & Inventory subtab again.
- Ensure the Supply Allocation box remains checked and click Save.
Using Earliest Availability
To utilize the earliest availability for sales orders:
- Go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders > List.
- Select a sales order from the list.
- Click the Earliest Availability icon in the Supply Required by Date column.
- In the popup, choose a Location to check its availability.
- Note the Earliest Available Date that appears, allowing you to select alternate locations if necessary.
- To populate the Supply Required By Date and Location, click OK.
- To close the popup window, select Close.
Important Considerations
- Expected Ship Date is disabled when Supply Allocation is enabled, meaning users cannot manually adjust this date.
- The
Transactions > Inventory > Check Item Availabilitypage is also removed when this feature is activated. - Supply Allocation does not consider buffer stock when allocating and setting expected item ship dates, focusing solely on actual stock levels.
