These notes can specify tax adjustments, benefits, or incentives aligned with the transaction reports required by law.

How to Define ICMS Posting Notes

To set up ICMS Posting Notes in NetSuite, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Setup > Brazil Reports > ICMS Posting Note.

2. In the State field, select the applicable state(s) for the note.

3. In the CFOP Code field, choose the pertinent CFOP code(s).

4. In the Transaction Nature field, indicate the applicable transaction nature(s).

   NetSuite will link this note to all transactions that fulfill the selected state, CFOP code, and transaction nature criteria.

5. In the Note field, input the note content you wish to relay to the tax authority, including adjustments, advance payments, or rate differentials as necessary.

6. If applicable, enter the tax adjustment code provided by the state tax authority in the Code field, ensuring it is exactly 10 characters long.

7. If you provided a code, give additional context in the Description field.

8. Finally, click Save to implement these changes.

By defining these notes, you ensure that relevant annotations are included in the EFD ICMS IPI report necessary for tax compliance.
