How to Take Your Website Offline for Maintenance in NetSuite
Taking your website offline for maintenance allows updates while preserving brand identity with custom content.
Taking your website offline for maintenance enables you to perform necessary updates, such as modifying images, adding banners, or editing product descriptions. Displaying a custom maintenance page helps maintain your brand's identity during downtime. If no custom content is uploaded, a generic maintenance page will appear instead.
Setting Up Your Custom Maintenance Content
Before taking your website offline, ensure that you have prepared a custom maintenance page. For detailed instructions on creating and uploading your maintenance content, refer to the section on Custom Maintenance Folder and Content.
How to Take Your Website Offline for Maintenance
- Navigate to Commerce > Websites > Website List.
- Select Edit next to the site you wish to take offline.
- Check the Take Website Offline for Maintenance box.
- Click Save.
Once the website is offline, visitors will be redirected to a URL on your web store domain (e.g., https://example.com/website-temporarily-unavailable). Here, they will see either your custom maintenance content or NetSuite's default maintenance page if no custom content has been added.
