eBay Connector FAQ
Explore eBay Connector limitations in NetSuite, including auction listings, volume discounts, and image updates.
The eBay Connector in NetSuite allows integration of eBay listings with your eCommerce and inventory management systems. However, users should be aware of its limitations, particularly regarding features such as auction listings and volume discounts. This FAQ aims to clarify common questions and provide best practices for effective use of the eBay Connector.
Does NetSuite Connector support eBay's Volume Discount feature?
Currently, the NetSuite Connector does not support eBay's Volume Discount feature.
Can I map the Promote a Listing field on my eBay products in NetSuite Connector?
The Promote a Listing feature utilizes the eBay Marketing API, which is separate from the FixedPriceItem API employed by the NetSuite Connector. Therefore, this feature cannot be used with the NetSuite Connector and must be managed directly through eBay.
Can I create an eBay auction listing using NetSuite Connector?
No, the NetSuite Connector supports only the synchronization of fixed price listings. If you have existing auction items, you'll need to delete those listings and recreate them as fixed price listings to sync with NetSuite.
What do I need to sync certified refurbished items?
No special setup is required in the NetSuite Connector. Just set the Condition ID to the value for Certified Refurbished (Condition ID = 2000) within the NetSuite field mapped to the ConditionID during your eBay product sync.
Why aren't my images updating on eBay?
If eBay detects that the URL or filename coming from your sync matches what is in its system, it assumes the image hasn't changed. To resolve this:
- Change the name of the image. This signals to eBay that the image is new and prompts an update.
- Temporarily clear the image field. After the update, re-input the original image filename. This method can force an update for eBay.
- Ensure all images meet eBay's minimum size requirements of 500 x 500 pixels. eBay will pass an error message if the images do not meet these specifications.
How to prevent an eBay listing from ending?
To prevent your eBay listings from ending when out of stock, enable the Out of Stock setting in the NetSuite Connector. This setting allows for a zero quantity listing on eBay without terminating it. Keep in mind, however, that if an item is out of stock for three consecutive 30-day billing periods, eBay will end that listing.
For further details on this setting, check Posting 0 Quantity During Product Sync in NetSuite Connector.
