If you create a gift card product in Shopify without assigning a Stock-keeping Unit (SKU), it automatically receives the SKU identifier WebOrderGiftCard. This default SKU can also be used when creating the corresponding gift card product within NetSuite. When both Shopify and NetSuite contain this SKU, the integration recognizes and matches them without additional configuration.

Using Custom SKUs for Gift Cards

If a different SKU is preferred for Shopify gift cards, ensure that an identical item is created in NetSuite featuring that specific SKU. Typically, this item should be configured as a non-fulfillable item to avoid fulfillment confusion. Important: Avoid using a gift certificate type item in NetSuite, as it will not sync correctly with Shopify gift card entries.
