Accessing Release Preview for NetSuite Testing
Learn how to access your Release Preview account in NetSuite and manage user access effectively.
To access your Release Preview account, use the same URL as your production account: https://system.netsuite.com. This is particularly important as it enables testing of new features before an official upgrade.
How to Access Release Preview
- Log in to NetSuite at
https://system.netsuite.com. - Switch to the Release Preview Administrator role.
- On the My Roles page, look for Release Preview in the Account Type column.
- It will be marked with an RP symbol in the Change Roles list.
Granting Access to Other Users
To give a user access:
- Navigate to Lists > Employees > Employees in the Release Preview account.
- Click Edit next to the employee's name.
- On the Access subtab, clear the Give Access box and save the record.
- Edit the employee record again and check the Give Access box. Reassign the necessary roles before saving.
- Instruct the user to log out and back in to access the Release Preview account.
Bulk User Access via CSV Import Assistant
- Create an Employee search and include:
- Internal ID
- Give Access
- Export the results to a CSV file.
- Access Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records.
- Choose Employees for both Import Type and Record Type.
- Follow the import steps and ensure you map Internal ID and Give Access fields correctly.
- Save and run the import job.
Removing Access from Users
- Log in as an Administrator to the Release Preview account.
- Navigate to Lists > Employees > Employees.
- Select the employee to remove access.
- Clear the Give Access box and save the record.
Accessing via New Release Portlet
- Log in to your production account.
- Locate the New Release portlet on your home page.
- If not visible, see instructions on adding it to your dashboard.
- Click Release Preview Login when available.
Best Practices
- Always ensure that the Release Preview account is exclusively used for testing. It is temporary and will be purged after 14 days of inactivity. Check your New Release portlet for upgrade dates and the cleaning date.
