Internationalization of Site Management Tools in NetSuite
Internationalization in Site Management Tools allows admins to set language preferences for the user interface in NetSuite.
Internationalization allows website administrators to customize the language of the Site Management Tools (SMT) user interface based on personal preferences. Each administrator can independently select their preferred language used in SMT, which corresponds to the language preference set in their NetSuite account. This feature enables a collaborative environment where one administrator might prefer English while another opts for Spanish, thereby accommodating diverse user requirements.
Key Features of Internationalization in SMT
- Language Selection: Administrators can select from any foreign language available in NetSuite for their SMT interface.
- Independence in Preferences: Each administrator’s language settings do not affect the others.
- Support Status: It currently supports SMT version 3, so checking the version in use is critical for effective implementation.
Important Note: While internationalization allows for language customization in the administrative user interface, it does not translate site content for visitors. The language seen by site visitors is determined by the language preferences configured in SuiteCommerce Advanced.
Setting Language Preferences
To select your language preferences for SMT:
- Log into your NetSuite account.
- Navigate to your preferences settings to establish your desired language, following the instructions provided in the section on choosing a language for your user interface.
Limitations
- Custom Content Types are currently not supported for internationalization.
By effectively utilizing internationalization, administrators can enhance their workflow and tailor SMT to their specific language needs, ultimately improving the overall user experience.
